Hanoi winter \u2013 perhaps the sun no longer paints the sky golden, the atmosphere is gray and tinged with a familiar gloom. Shoulders huddled together, breaths softly exhaled like smoke, hands reaching for each other, hugs growing closer and tighter\u2026<br>\u2026<br>These cherished images can only be found in winter, not in any other season. A touch of affection, a touch of nostalgia \u2013 Hanoi winter is intertwined with each person&#8217;s unique memories when the wind arrives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"298\" src=\"https:\/\/cuisinehanoitoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Ha-Noi-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cuisinehanoitoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Ha-Noi-01.jpg 450w, https:\/\/cuisinehanoitoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Ha-Noi-01-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hanoi this season, the afternoon sun doesn&#8217;t set,<br>the deserted streets are lined with leaning, dry branches sway,<br>a small roadside stall evokes a poetic verse,<br>West Lake, West Lake, a hazy purple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In those bygone days, as soon as the weather forecast announced the first monsoon, my parents would busily rearrange the wardrobe, pulling out the winter clothes that still smelled faintly of winter after a long sleep in the old suitcase. Every winter, even without many new clothes, I could still feel my father&#8217;s meticulous hands smoothing out each fold, my mother&#8217;s careful eyes checking for loose buttons to sew them back on, so quiet, peaceful, and warm\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So many mixed emotions each time the season changes, each time I feel the dry, chilly wind, when I suddenly realize that each morning I tiptoe softly on the floor because it&#8217;s &#8220;too cold,&#8221; and put on a thick coat before stepping out the door.
