A tour around Hanoi will leave visitors with unforgettable memories of the 36 ancient craft streets of old Hanoi, the Temple of Literature – a symbol of a capital rich in tradition and studiousness, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple – the heart of Hanoi, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Tay Ho District – the final resting place of beloved President Ho Chi Minh…

Climate

Hanoi’s climate is typical of the Northern region of Vietnam, characterized by a humid tropical monsoon climate, with hot, rainy summers and cold, dry winters. In Hanoi, May to September is the hot and rainy season. From November to March of the following year is the dry winter season. Between those two seasons, there are two transitional periods (April and October), so Hanoi experiences all four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The changing seasons give Hanoi its own unique beauty in each season.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Hanoi is from September to November or from March to April, when the weather is mild and warm. From November to March, there is less rain, but the weather can be very cold, especially at night. From May to September, the weather is hot and humid, with occasional heavy rain.

Getting there

From Ho Chi Minh City, you can travel to Hanoi by train, car, or plane.

Book train tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi at Saigon Station: 01 Nguyen Thong, Ward 9, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Tel: 08. 39 318 952. Currently, there are many types of tickets to choose from (hard seat, soft seat, air-conditioned sleeper berths…), prices starting from approximately 782,000 VND/ticket/person. The train stops at Hanoi Station on Le Duan Street.

If traveling by car, you can choose companies such as Hoang Long (Tel: 0988 259 568), Mai Linh (08 39292929), Tan Dat ((08) 218.1056 – 090.66.88.567)… Buses depart from Mien Dong Bus Station, seats and sleeper berths cost from 550,000 VND/ticket, including food and drinks. Travel time by car is approximately under 60 hours, but because the car has to stop for meals, it will take longer than by train.

Air travel is the fastest way to get to Hanoi, but it’s also the most expensive. The flight time is 1 hour and 45 minutes, with about 2 hours for check-in, so the total travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to central Hanoi is about 5 hours. Airfare from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi varies, ranging from 1.2 million VND/ticket/person and up.

By airport shuttle bus

– The airport shuttle bus costs 35,000 VND/person and goes to 1 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi (either Noi Bai Airport shuttle or a company shuttle bus parked there – I don’t remember the name).

– If you fly Jestar, they have a shuttle service to 204 Tran Quang Khai Street, costing 30,000 – 35,000 VND per person.

From these two points, you can take a taxi or motorbike taxi to your desired destination. Remember to ask about the price beforehand.

By Taxi

After exiting the airport, turn right and you’ll find many taxis parked there. Choose a company with a sign indicating its taxi company name. Before getting in, ask for the price and request a fixed fare from the airport to your desired destination. The current price to downtown Hanoi is around 300,000 VND.

By Bus

– Take bus number 7 to the Cau Giay transfer station (approximately 4,000 VND). Then take bus number 32 or 25 from there to Giap Bat bus station (approximately 4,000 VND).

– You can also take bus number 17 from Noi Bai Airport to Long Bien for about 4,000 – 6,000 VND.

Taking the bus has the advantage of being cheap, but you have to wait, and the wait time is hit or miss! Also, it’s not very convenient if you have a lot of luggage.

Getting around and sightseeing in Hanoi

The tourist attractions in Hanoi are not too far apart, so you can rent a motorbike and drive around. To rent a motorbike, you need to present your ID card and pay between 4 and 10 million VND (depending on the motorbike). Rental prices range from 10,000 – 15,000 VND/hour and 60,000 – 100,000 VND/day. Some addresses: 5 Dinh Liet, 53 Tran Hung Dao, 23 E Hai Ba Trung…

Of course, you can also choose other means of transportation such as motorbike taxis or regular taxis. A little tip is to ask for the price and bargain before going anywhere.

Hotels

The number of hotels in Hanoi listed on iVIVU is nearly 300. Besides luxurious 5-star hotels with room rates reaching several million VND per night, there are also many affordable 1- and 2-star hotels – the lowest price being from 92,000 VND/room/night. The Old Quarter has a high concentration of hotels, making it very convenient for you to rest and plan your itinerary to visit all the prominent landmarks in Hanoi.

Some landmarks are only a few kilometers from the center of Hanoi, such as: Temple of Literature, Hanoi Opera House, Hoa Lo Prison, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Duong Lam Ancient Village

Entrance to Duong Lam Ancient Village

Further away are the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and Duong Lam Ancient Village (located in Duong Lam commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi).

Hanoi – the thousand-year-old capital of Vietnam – always captivates visitors with its unique ancient

[4

post-20","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cam-nang
["GET
